A Successful First Badminton ChallengeRMIT Union Sport & Recreation held its first ever Badminton Challenge on Saturday 31st July at Bundoora West Campus. 34 Badminton enthusiasts played in the gruelling round robin qualifying rounds, in an effort to make it into the finals. It was great to see the passionate competitors battle their way on the courts towards first place. We saw many skilled players however there can only be one winner at the end of the day. The finals kept the spectators on the edge of their seats as both gold medal matches concluded with less a than 7 point difference. Congratulations to Varaporn Techavinyoonont for winning the Female Division and Edwin Cheah for winning the Male Division. These winners will be the first to have their names engraved on the Sport & Recreation perpetual Badminton Challenge plaque.
